Title Dance of/for the Future: New queer and empowering Approaches

・Summary
In this talk, Lucie Ortmann introduced examples of artists from the German dance scene whose future-minded choreographic practices explore the realms of body politics, digital media, collective responsibility, and new communities. One of these examples was Katharina Senzenberger, whose work focuses on dance that is available digitally, and connects the contemporary and commercial dance worlds in unique ways. Brigitte Huezo works at the intersection of technology, video games, 3D design, film, and fashion. Sophia Neises is a visually impaired performer, choreographer, and activist. Together with Zwoisy Mears-Clarke, she is involved with a lab for producing creative and experimental audio description at tanzhaus nrw.

Lucie Ortmann
Lucie Ortmann has been a dramaturge at tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf since 2022. Her previous roles involved programming at the Ruhrtriennale when Stefanie Carp was artistic director, Schauspielhaus Wien in Austria, and Theater Oberhausen in Germany. She is also an editor and writer for the e-journal MAP – Media Archive Performance.
