The open calls for Saison Artist in Residence Visiting Fellow, which supports creative research for international contemporary theater and dance artist, has been announced

We kindly ask our studio users to take Covid-19 prevention and control measures on your own in accordance with the Japanese government’s Mask Use Guidance from 13 March 2023 and your cooperation in ensuring basic practices such as frequent ventilation, handwashing, and hand sanitizing while using our facilities.
In order to reduce the risk of catching coronavirus (Covid-19) and passing it on to others, please follow the hygiene protocols listed below when entering and using Morishita Studio:
1. Wash hands and use hand sanitizers
2. Wear masks
3. Gargle
4. If you cough or sneeze, use a tissue or into your bended elbow and wash or sanitize your hands immediately afterwards
5. Provide fresh air (ventilation) within the studios
6. Observe physical distancing
*Please refrain from entering the studio if you are feeling unwell, especially if you have respiratory issues (cough, running nose, shortness of breath) and symptoms of fever.
At the studio, our employees will take the following precautionary measures in order to ensure the safety of our visitors:

● Ventilation of indoor shared spaces

Morishita Studio has two adjacent buildings designed for theater and dance rehearsals and is operated by The Saison Foundation. The main building consists of three studios: the medium-sized Studios A and B (109.35 sqm each) and the larger Studio C (238.56 sqm). The annex houses the smaller Studio S (77.97 sqm), plus guest rooms, and a lounge. Each studio has its own staff room, locker rooms, storage room, and there are also shower rooms and a meeting room within the main building. The studios are provided for projects organized and co-organized by The Saison Foundation, and are awarded to our grantees. In addition to rehearsals, the studios are also used for workshops, conferences, symposiums, etc., depending on the needs of its users.
Requests to rent the studios are accepted during the grant application period from August to October each year. Grantees who have submitted requests to rent the studios are awarded priority use of the studio during the year starting from April to March each year.

Morishita Studio is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The building will be closed on from April 1 to April 5 and from December 29, 2024 to January 3, 2025, and on dates specified by the Foundation.

◆ FACILITIES & EQUIPMENT
Equipment usage requests must submitted and approved beforehand, and studio users are required to set the equipment by themselves.
Common-use equipment and items: |
Linoleum stage carpets, folding chairs and tables, whiteboards, garment racks, stepladders, extension cables, stage riser boxes, stage platforms (mainly for Studio C), refrigerators, tea utensils, etc. |

Sound equipment: | Public-address sound systems are available in each studio, though the equipment may vary so please ask the staff for details. |
