Research Theme | IN LA KECH – HALA KEN (I am another you – You are another me): The potential artistic -social encounter points between Japanese and Mexican contemporary dance |
Brief Description of the Research | Mariana Arteaga explored the possibilities of the dialogue between Japanese and Mexican contemporary dancers by sharing the contexts of both scenes, with the aim to international exchanges and collaborations. During her residency, she met and created a network of several emergency and midcareer choreographers, as well as arts managers in Japan. |

Mariana Arteaga
Born in Mexico
Mariana Arteaga studied social communications at the Metropolitan Autonomous University. She worked as a dance curator and programmer and was a Director of the International Dance and Electonic Media Festival (FEDAME) between 2006 and 2011. At present, she work as a dance curator and program advisor at the Digital Culture Center and artistic director of El Gran Continental ?otra vez! In 2013, she visited Japan to attend TPAM in Yokohama.
