Brief Description of the Research | Angela Conquet explored the ways in which traditional bodily techniques find expression in relation to issues of heritage, preservation and innovation in contemporary Japanese dance. During her residency, she attended Yokohama Dance Collection and TPAM in Yokohama, and interviewed several choreographers, dancers and arts managers from young and emerging to deepen her understanding in Japanese contemporary dance. |

■Profile
Angela Conquet
Angela Conquet received a master degree in in International Cultural Management – Institute for European Studies, Paris 8 University. She worked at Mains d’Oeuvres in Paris as an artistic director in dance from 2005 until 2011. She became an artistic director of Dancehouse in Melbourne in 2011. She produced several international projects including a dance film, Botchan Retreat with Japan Contemporary Dance Network and three year’s exchange project, Creative Meeting Points: Melbourne X Hong Kong, with the Performing Arts Department of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Hong Kong.
