| Research Theme | The Home Project: Exploring precarious living conditions in Athens and Tokyo |
| Brief Description of the Research | Katia Arfara researched to develop Akira Takayama’s piece with a theme of homeless which is presented in Athens in 2015. During her residency, she researched with Akira Takayama and met several Japanese playwrights, directors, curators and researchers to deepen her understanding in Japanese contemporary theater, dance and art. |

Katia Arfara
Born in Greece
Katia Arfara received an MA in theatre studies from Athens University and a PhD in art history from Sorbonne University in Paris. She studied theater, dance and visual arts from 1960’s until today. Since 2010 she has been the theater and dance artistic director at the Onassis Cultural Center in Athens. She was a co-curator of X-Apartments Athens in 2015. She is the author of the book “Theatralites contemporaines. Entre les arts plastiques et les arts de la scene ” (2011).
