Brief Description of the Research | Pichet Klunchun observed Tokyo people’s walking, as a research for a new piece which is going to present at Festival / Tokyo in autumn 2017. He focused on rhythm, patterns and styles in walking and explored the relationships with community and society. |

Pichet Klunchun
Born in Thailand
Pichet Klunchun trained in Thai Classical Mask Dance, Khon, with Chaiyot Khummanee, one of the best Khon masters in Thailand. After receiving his degree in Thai Classical Dance at Chulalongkom University, he started his career as a dancer and choreographer to create works to explore body expression to connect the sense of tradition with contemporary.
He has presented in world-leading festivals including Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Zurcher Theater Spektakel and Lincoln Center Festival. He received “Routes ECF Princess Margriet Award for Cultural Diversity (2008)”, Chevalier of the French Arts and Literature Order (2012) and the John D. Rockefeller 3rd Award (2014).
